Personal note - I lived in DC in the 80s and covered Gore and others for The Tennessean. Total Wash Monthly fan. Wife roomed with James Gibney. The Post was the daily 25 cent joy on the Red Line from Dupont Circle to Union Station. MW was my mainstay. Left for VT. Now returning to DC for the winter months as of tomorrow. I'll buy coffee.
That Halloween story always makes me cry. She was so good and so good in all the other ways as well. I’m very happy to hear your family is flourishing.
I read this column when it first published. Who could ever forget it. I loved to read her column and wish I could be reading her incisive commentary today. Our trick-or-treaters are now 7 and 4. You've given me insight into all of what is ahead. Thanks for sharing.
As I’ve shared, Marjorie was a game changer for me. Reading the Halloween essay for the first time in “Zoo” years ago, drove home the power and potential of the personal essay. Phenomenal - all of you.

Aw, thanks. You want to feel really bad, read the Marjorie anthologies.

Tim -- Can't read, and reread, this column often enough. Nothing that happens today will be more important than this.
