There’s a fine collection of Bennett’s essays called “Writing Home.” It includes a startlingly frank account of his family’s history of mental illness.
I enjoyed how your writing referenced satirical scenes within films, etc. that you've held on a shelf of "All-time Best" within your imagination.
Unfortunately, as you imagined in advance, I'm one of many people who hadn't had the opportunity or pleasure of watching/reading any of your referenced materials.
But I do have a favorite stand-up comedy special, which has a short scene within it referencing Dementia J. Drumpf.
It nails down how shocked I was (especially as an empath) early on; then impacted by the cycle of repeated rotations of trauma-chaos by each tweet always followed by too many days of media coverage of the minutiae! I would assume a good majority of the population were similarly reeling from the roller coaster ride throughout the first few years...but now my guess is that at least half of them must've gone into psychological survival mode & blocked it out once it was over--cause there's polls still showing 50/50 race. Outrageous to an ABSURD DEGREE!
Here's a link to John Mulaney's "There's a HORSE in the HOSPITAL.."
Beyond the Fringe was terrific, even with the follow-on cast in London when we saw it.

I saw, and loved, Beyond the Fringe on Broadway in the ‘60s, and really enjoyed his films…Thanks for this
