I loved Christopher Durang’s one-act play “Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All For You” when I saw it in 1983, and to my great frustration there doesn’t seem to be a video available of that production, which starred Nancy Marchand, nor of the original, which starred Elizabeth Frantz. Marshall Brickman directed a film adaptation in 2001 starring a miscast Diane Keaton, with a screenplay by Durang, but it wasn’t very good.
Durang’s brilliantly funny satire came to mind as I was writing my latest New Republic piece about how poor Scott Bessent is trying to construct a coherent economic strategy out of Trump’s insane mismanagement of the economy. Maybe putting on a nun’s habit would help. You can read my piece here.

To eradicate the trump virus before it turns into the black plague or the Adolf return we will require a new vaccine,, the average joe in American needs to stand up and be counted ,, he will , he can , he must
